The Scenario
A Midwestern Utility Company had been working with CRS to offer relocation benefits as a recruiting enticement for several years. Business realities created a need to reduce their costs significantly yet they had a continued need for recruiting enticements because of the limited pool of candidates that offered the specialized skills required in their industry.
The CRS Plan
After CRS listened to the corporate contact and evaluated his challenges, the following action steps were taken:
- An accurate cost projection was critical and was presented as a part of an overview of options.
- CRS participated in follow up discussions with the Utility Company's various decision makers to ensure a complete and accurate understanding of the cost and benefits for each option.
- The Utility Company was able to make an informed business decision.
The Outcome
The Utility Company chose to implement a 5 tiered relocation benefit program.
- The new policy allowed the Client to more appropriately match employee specific relocation costs with the relative impact on business results for varying employees.
- The Client enhanced recruiting results by being able to offer relocation benefits to a wider range of employees than previously was possible.
- The total relocation cost per employee, and in total for the client, were reduced significantly.
- Employee acceptance of the new policy design was very positive.
- As a total outsourced Client of CRS, CRS completed all the administrative and communication work at no additional cost or burden to the Client.
Status Today
The Utility Company experienced the benefits of CRS' stress free relocation program. Relocation Simplified.
